Phillips, Lytle, Hitchcock, Blaine & Huber, LLP - Virtual Courtroom
|
We designed and installed a training facility inside the law offices of Phillips, Lytle, Hitchcock, Blaine & Huber LLP. The interactive facility simulates the courtroom environment so that attorneys are able to practice for courtroom appearances. The judge's bench and the AMX control system are shown in this picture. SVS also provided the prosecution and defense desks, the witness stand, as well as the jury seating area. A large plasma screen, camera, and speakers are connected to a remote location in order to provide a participating "audience". The remote connection provides an opportunity for partners and associates of the firm to monitor the progress of their attorneys. The remote audience provides a real courtroom reaction to the statements of attorneys. Recordings of the simulation also provide attorneys with feedback on the effectiveness of their presentation skills and speaking habits.

NFTA TAP
Barco Video Wall
|
We installed a Barco Overview - cDG 80 DL dual module video wall system for the NFTA Transit Authority Police. The new system provides officers with a large view of rail operations as well as platform images from cameras around the city. Intuitive Wall management software, which is included with the system, allows the display wall to be controlled and used easily from the operator workstation. Officers can easily select from different wall scenarios and select the view they prefer during their particular shift.
The Barco Wall consists of a 2 wide by 1 high array. This provides a total screen size of 128 wide by 48 inches high. The Hydra Compact graphical controller drives both screens and allows the video and RGB windows to be freely movable and sizable within either of the two screens. Video windows can move across seams and be resized to fit the viewer's needs.
"Sound Video Solutions is the first integrator to install this system entirely on your own, demonstrating that Sound Video Solutions is a company Barco wishes to work with. We welcome the opportunity to work with you again. Great job!" - KM, Barco Visual Solutions, LLC

Dent Neurologic Institute
- Executive Boardroom
|
We designed and installed this integrated AV system
bringing a host of convenience and control to the executive conference boardroom
at The new Dent Neurological Institute. All of the devices were selected to be
as discrete as possible in order to maintain an extremely clean traditional
boardroom look when the equipment is not being used. The system is simple to
operate. Participants use the wireless control panel to activate the equipment,
which in turn gives them the ability to share their ideas electronically with
other individuals. Various sources of information can be accessed through the
system, and "pop-up" tabletop interfaces will make connecting a laptop computer
to the system easy to do. An in-ceiling projector lift descends from a
diamond-shaped ceiling tile to display the desired information, and a motorized
screen at the front of the room draws the participant's attention and focus to
the subject at hand. This "eyes front" room design will encourage the
participants to be looking in the right direction for the video camera.
Additionally, the presenter can walk around the executive conference room while
maintaining wireless control over their presentation. |

RIT
- "Gracies" Cafe
|
This installation included 12 = 27" TV's on 8" pole mounts with a crossbar support and two larger 32" TV's on a shorter 4' pole mount in the lower corners of the room. A 50" Plasma TV was installed on the main entrance wall of the walkway. This enhanced viewing experience would not have been complete without sound so we installed 12 Electrovoice EVID 4.2 speakers inside of a custom designed enclosure that was painted to match the TV pole mounts. The speakers are generally used for background music, but by changing the source at the main equipment rack the sound can be focused on any channel available on the TVs for an important event. This very large room now has a simple domestic atmosphere to make the dining experience of its patrons more enjoyable.

Niagara Gorge Discovery Center - Eight Projector Theatre
|
Hadley Exhibits, Inc., a world renowned exhibit design and construction firm asked
SVS to provide an eight-projector 180 degree theatre with surround sound to be
built into a reconstructed museum in Niagara Falls, NY. The challenge was to
take a set of two DVDs that depicted the geological history of the Niagara Gorge
and play it through a system that synchronized the images and projected it upon a
50 foot wide by 5 foot high 180 degree screen. This system then had to be programmed
so that the museum employees could operate it with the use of a single touch panel. This Front Projection Video Wall is an example of our ability to break new ground in the world of sound and video installations. Niagara Gorge Discovery Center - "Mine Shaft Elevator Experience"
|
Hadley Exhibits again asked
SVS to provide a control system and all of the necessary sound and video equipment to create a simulated ride in a fabricated mine shaft elevator car. We built 12 plasma screens and 4 video monitors into the elevator car, which was designed and fabricated by the customer. We then programmed the controls for the sound, lighting, air-conditioning, and door, as well as for the movement of the elevator along three axes. The movements simulate going down through the 300 foot mine shaft and include several stops along the way to allow the patrons to examine fossils and rock formations. As the car appears to descend, our control system activates the flow of cool air into the elevator car.
There is also a simulated emergency - you will have to visit the museum to experience it.

Orchard Park Presbyterian Church - Liturgical Sound & Video
|
Reverend Richard Young, the new pastor at Orchard Park Presbyterian Church was looking to create a new contemporary service in addition to the traditional service offered on Sundays. The church is a large open venue with very high ceilings and an irregular shape. The existing sound system was not functioning properly and the liveliness of the walls and ceilings made for a challenging sound reinforcement solution. The new service was to include video projection, several live music feeds with monitors, several wireless and wired microphones, and the ability to present from a personal computer, DVD and VHS tape. Our solution was able to solve their sound reinforcement problem by: incorporating all of the necessary equipment, installing it in an unobtrusive manner, and providing complete control of the entire system from a single console. All of these objectives were accomplished while meeting the tight budgetary constraints of the church.

1st Presbyterian Church of Lockport - Sound & Video
|
We designed and installed an unobtrusive twin projection system (shown at the right). The projected images from a remote controlled camera and from computer generated lyrics "appear" on the walls to the left and right of the altar. A third portable system is used in a remote room during services as well as for stage productions. Projectors and speakers were installed without disturbing the 19th century architecture.

Union Pacific Railroad - Train Simulator
|
Hadley Exhibits again asked
SVS to provide a rear projection video system for a train simulator that was designed and fabricated by the customer. Participants "drive" the train by pushing the throttle. The rear projection videos behind the front and side windows provide a realistic visualization of the engine racing down the tracks.

Strong Memorial Hospital
|
In cooperation with Strong Memorial Hospital, the Health Imaging Division at Kodak, and the University of Rochester Medical Center, Sound Video Solutions engineered, programmed, and installed the facility’s new Struck Conference Room system. High-resolution monitors and projectors were selected in order to meet the specific viewing needs of the Imaging Sciences Department at the hospital. The Hi-Resolution Monitors were Color Balanced using SVS’s new Digital Light Spectrometer in order to ensure that a high level of color accuracy was achieved. Room participants can retrieve patient information and X-Ray images via the Kodak PACS system computer, where they are then displayed for the Doctors, Fellows, and Residents to review as a group.
